establecida en 2013, es una de las principales unidades de su tipo en los Estados Unidos. Fue la primera unidad de UAS en California en recibir su COA (Certificado de Autorizaci\u00f3n) Operacional de la FAA, as\u00ed como una de las \u00fanicas unidades de UAS en los Estados Unidos en tener autorizaci\u00f3n operativa a nivel nacional de la FAA.<\/p><p>Esta unidad vuela en diversas misiones que incluyen, entre otras: b\u00fasqueda de personas desaparecidas, documentaci\u00f3n de escenas de accidentes de tr\u00e1nsito, documentaci\u00f3n de escenas de cr\u00edmenes, sujetos atrincherados, incidentes con materiales peligrosos (HAZMAT), incendios forestales, b\u00fasqueda y rescate, y supervisi\u00f3n de operaciones de bombas y SWAT.<\/p><p>La unidad es una misi\u00f3n colateral y actualmente est\u00e1 compuesta por 36 pilotos. Cada piloto est\u00e1 altamente capacitado y posee un Certificado de Piloto Remoto de la FAA para operar un Sistema A\u00e9reo No Tripulado. La unidad actualmente opera con cuatro tipos de fuselajes (DJI Matrice 30T, DJI Mavic 3T Enterprise, DJI Mavic Mini 4 Pro y DJI Avata 2). Esta diversidad permite que la Unidad UAS est\u00e9 disponible tanto para operaciones diurnas como nocturnas e incluya capacidades de vuelo en interiores. El peque\u00f1o factor de forma y la portabilidad de los fuselajes permiten que se desplieguen en \u00e1reas a las que el personal de tierra puede no llegar o que pueden estar demasiado densamente pobladas para ser escaneadas por la Unidad de Aviaci\u00f3n Tripulada.<\/p><p class=\"MsoNormal\">La Unidad UAS o partes de la misma pueden ser solicitadas para su uso por diversas entidades de la agencia, tales como: patrullas, detectives, narc\u00f3ticos y unidades de pandillas. La Unidad UAS puede proporcionar el equipo completo o un componente del equipo seg\u00fan las circunstancias y los requisitos de la misi\u00f3n. Esta flexibilidad permite que la Unidad UAS utilice mejor su cuerpo de pilotos y equipo de \u00faltima generaci\u00f3n para limitar la exposici\u00f3n humana y mejorar la seguridad general en misiones cr\u00edticas para salvar vidas.
