Cuando los agentes se comunicaron con la v\u00edctima, se enteraron de que estaba en su residencia en la cuadra 200 de Nellora Street en la ciudad de Camarillo cuando fue atacado por Grant Rhodes. El ataque a la v\u00edctima no fue provocado y Rhodes cort\u00f3 el cuello de la v\u00edctima varias veces con un c\u00fater. La v\u00edctima recibi\u00f3 varios puntos de sutura en el cuello como resultado de las heridas sufridas en el ataque.
